// Announcement: AEoD development team
//
//***********************************************************************************************************\\
As I have less free time, and AEoD still have a lot of stuff to give, a team was formed to keep working in this mod.
This team is formed by 4 persons:

(alphabetical order)

  • Bouncy
  • DBThanatos
  • Ichor
  • Reilsss

For now, we are focused in fixing as much as possible in this version (4.x) (they have participated in all the fixes of 4.16). However, there are more aeod plans that have actually started
So, any questions about the mod, can be directed to this guys. They did put a lot of effort in the mod, so they are now officially part of it.

Thanks guys, you've made my modding life easier

ĈoD: Aeons of death (v4.21)

//***********************************************************************************************************\\

Description:
Ĉons of Death is a massive compilation wad that brings together monsters, weapons, and items from numerous games, such as Heretic, Hexen, Quake, Quake 2, Redneck rampage, Duke Nukem, Blood, etc.

Because no maps are included with AEoD, the mod is intended to be used in the default levels of doom2/TNT/Plutonia, or in custom megawads; the possibilities are almost infinite Smile

The mod uses a randomization code which causes any monster or weapon in a certain class to spawn a random monster or weapon respectively. For example, in place of an imp, a snake imp, or a kilmaat, or a catharsi, or one of several others might appear. Also, in place of a shotgun, a shotgun from Doom 3 or the Arc of Death from Hexen might appear. This guarantees that it will never be the same game twice.

Monsters might also drop weapons, ammo, health, or items such as bottles of medicine, artifacts, or runes which can also be stored in the inventory for later use.

Downloads:
AEoD 4.0 (main package)
AEoD patch 4.21

Optional music wad

Latest (G)Zdoom SVN

AEoD main package: rapidshare mirror by DukeNico:
AEoD 4.0 Part 1 AEoD 4.0 Part 2

Usage:
IMPORTANT: This mod requires the latest SVN (subversion) of (G)ZDoom to work. You can find it here for both engines. The mod will not work in Skulltag or another Zdoom child port besides GZDoom.

Once you have downloaded both, the main AEoD package and the latest patch, you must run the game from the command line; it should look like this:
Code:
c:\Games\ZDoom\Zdoom.exe -file AEoD.pk3 AEoDdat.pk3

The mod also works with custom megawads for vanilla doom2. To play one of said custom wads, you add it into the command line before the aeod pk3s. Something like this:
Code:
c:\Games\ZDoom\Zdoom.exe -file MyMegawad.wad AEoD.pk3 AEoDdat.pk3

Alternatively, in both cases, you can make a shortcut to (g)zdoom.exe and in the properties->Shortcur->Target add the two pk3 file names (and the custom wad, if any). Like shown in this video.
