PostSubject: Making Monster Mayhem mode harder   Sat Apr 13, 2013 8:07 pm

I'm just wondering, is there a way to make monster mayhem mode more challenging? I'm not talking about the whole reward thing, though...but I find waiting around for monsters to spawn in a tad too easy in many maps for my liking. (Consoledoom, for one)

I could increase the spawn rates and monster counts, as well as up the chances to spawn cyberdemons and spider masterminds more frequently. I do like that idea... Twisted Evil

I definitely like those ideas of making MM Mode harder, to balance out the rewards. I also had one question: Does it get any harder the more maps you complete in that mode? I completed quite a few maps, and I haven't really noticed any difference in the spawn rates.

I'd say increase the spawn rates based on your performance if it were possible. The better you fare, the tougher the enemies become, as in killing three waves of Imp monsters without taking any real damage would make the next several waves be Hell Knights, Mancubi, Pain Elementals and so on.

That is, if that's possible at all. Otherwise Im fine with increasing the spawn rates, but I wouldnt want to meet a Cyberdemon around every single corner.

I also would definitely suggest, if possible, have the corpses of enemies spawned in fade away after a short while so that too many corpses don't clutter up the map.

As for the "cybie around the corner" thing, I'm also against the cyberdemon and spiderdemon spawn rates being set up that high...though high enough that I would still be kept on my toes, particularly in wide-open spaces.

By the way, will it be possible to have a warning sound for when a cyberdemon or spiderdemon-level boss has spawned in during this mode?
