PostSubject: Questionable forum mods...   Fri Sep 11, 2009 9:00 am

At times, I wonder if some people are taking their mod status a bit too seriously. For instance, on Skulltag forums, someone chewed me out for thinking I posted something against the forum purg/ban rules, but all I had done was change my verdict. There's nothing against changing those now, is there?... if you guys have accounts at skulltag anyway.

The big question is, why do some people take the rule book and make it their bible? These kinds of people have got to relax...

Well, I dont think I ever registered at Skulltag, so I know nothng about it and I dont get affected by this. However, in other forums, I have seen effectively this kind of ban/warn/etc for very little. Is all up to the mod's opinion, and while I disagree in various aspects, I dont really care enough. Except for, let's say, the crazy rampage of delete-post-and-edit-what's-left-in-the-thread or the delete-thread-completely tendency that happened in the zdoom forums Razz

Doesn't really happen all that often, and the only threads that get deleted are utterly worthless (mainly spam threads made by users who get banned shortly afterwards). Still, it's your opinion Razz

I know. However, it's just I think soulpriestess could have taken things a little more lightly. She needs some breaking in though, because she's rather new (skulltag that is)

So funny you say that. Because I'm definitly on the opposide. I think forumrules are definitly needed to avoide chaos. This comes specially handy when the amount forum users rise into high numbers.

So far my favroit forum is the nfscars.net forum, where I belive the admins do a good job. The rules are kind of strict and get enforced but that helps to keep people nice along each other.

I also would like to get a few things more strict on this forum as well, (for example that in a update thread we only post updates and move any kind of conversation to a diffrent thread). But I know I will stand with this quiet alone, so I let keep things running as they are now here (as so far most of it went without a problem with is good enogth for me).

For that you get warrings cooke. That no suprice for me. Your "strigth in your face" attitude is kind of aggressiv, and I belive that mods that are settled familar to me or Thanatos would have kicked your butt. Well what I mean not everyone is good in handling a such agressiv straigth in your face attitude, some people would and will definitly see red. Give you a warring and then make the next step to perform the consequence.

So in short I guess I stay more towards your 'enemys' then you on this strict rules oppinion.

Well noble gold dragons seem to enjoy keeping some kind of order across there kingdom, and that attiude swips into forums too a little.
