PostSubject: [Closed] Flamethrower Graphic glitch   Fri May 14, 2010 8:16 pm

Inoticed that when I shot with the flame thrower in primary fire mode that on the end of the flame a weird graphic glitch happens. a white and black grpahic is shown like from a energy explosion instade of a flame fire graphic.

I fist asumed that one or two frames for the flametheower where used by something else but I could not find a prove on that.

I did researches and came to this information:

Flamethrower shots the FTFire actor.
This actor uses as dead graphics FXFR frames A to O

The actor got form me long time ago the decal named PyroDecal2

The Decal in DecalDefs uses the frames FXFRA0 to FXFRO0 (those are exact the same graphics as are played in the dead sequnces of the flamethrower fire.


I did replace the called decal for a test and the graphic bug suddenly disapeared. Now Sinces the Decal and the dead graphic use the same spirit graphics as base I do not understand this graphic clitch at the first place. Nor do I understand why using the PyroDecal removes the grpahic bug. PyroDecal2 bases on PyroDecal code it only uses diffrent sprit graphics for the drawing....


So I do not know why this happens but below is my code suggest for a hotfix.


Befor I forget this bug happens on GZDoom and ZDoom in combo of version 5.03 of AEoD

Cant reproduce.

Could you please try with 5.03? Im trying with that one and I see no problem here.

Closed due to lack of feedback. Never noticed a problem at all though.
