This thread is for all the suggestions that arent quite big enough for their own thread. This is, of course, open to all people.

I shall start things off.

How about some ROTT Gibs for when you blow up a ROTT character?

We've already been over this on the zdoom forums about the gibbage thing. The answer is no. The shared gibs are for everyone, and that's that.

Spoiler alert:

I've been thinking in changing at least the blood drops on the gibbing. That's the biggest thing that will change.

Reasons why we're not adding the rott gibs (short version):
The gibs that AEoD uses, pretty much like everything else, is generic. So, we're using the same for almost everything (quake monsters exception, but that's because I love that game, so, it has privileges Razz )

Okay, thanks for clearing that from my mind.

Next is the OmoiCaco.

In the releases prior to v5.x, there was a small chance that the OmoiCaco would drop some goodies when killed. Now it seems that everytime you do encounter & kill one, you get nothing, every single time, Thus making its rarity (and quite possibly the OmoiCaco itself) quite pointless.

Any reason for the change (if any)?

It does. There were some ways to "force" it to drop stuff, so it had to be changed to correct that. The whole point was always the same: find it, and in a very very lucky ocassion, it will give you something.

Is not supossed to give stuff to you half of the times. Pehaps you've been just that unlucky Razz

Increase in drakans ammo consumtion. 3 reds is to little for a dragons or the black fire spheres.

The KES smaller ones only have a good effect on units which are smaller and aren't boss characters.

If your refering to the black balls they are awesome on small monsters and the dragons are awesome on big ones. 2-3 dragons is enough for most bosses easily. Thats only 6-9 reds. Maybe the dragons dps are somewhat op or something. The fact that you can summon them, run away and hide behind corners and let them deal with the bosses is pretty lame as well. I still love the idea of summing dragons though.

The drakan dragons are indeed something that needed a fix. In a patch that will be coming up relatively soon, this has been fixed to avoid abuse. Because yeah, they're too strong and that doesnt make sense.

I've always felt that a weapon's efficiency of ammo use was based on how high up it was on the weapon level scale, taking its cooldown into effect. The Plasma Rifle, for example, uses a point of ammo for every single shot it uses. It can drain your reserves quickly enough, and it isn't even that powerful. The Drakan, however, when used with reserve, and accuracy of course, can use a good 15-24 red ammo and clear an entire room. Again, if used right.

Overall, there are still balance issues in the mod as in 5.03. For the new patch that is in the works, some of these has been fixed, probably others will come up. But yeah, the drakan was too cheap.

You can always use the Pulsegun, it is the Plasma Rifle's bigger, nastier, painkilling brother.

And yep, the Drakan needs a nerf. It's ridicously powerful, considering how little red mana it uses.

What about a big melee weapon that hits like a truck but its slow between each attack and has an activation that increases walkspeed but drains mana per sec or something like that. Would be nice for hit and run tactics against slow big monsters (strafing around thier attacks or something). Also weaker monsters that need to be taken down before they make to much trouble. Could also be for quickly moving to a better position.

Im just thinking about a pure melee weapon that I could see myself using even in the hardest maps.

The Vorpal Blade kind of does this. Hit enemies to get a charge. Then use it to get a damage a speed boost. The more charge you have, the bigger the boost. Using it at full power gives you some other nifty effects.

heh, I guess you're right.

Am I the only one here who is put off by the fact that most of the SMG-Type weapons only have a single shot firing mode and burst fire mode? My idea would probably be to have a "Switch Firing Mode" key to switch from single/burst/automatic firing modes without it occupying the alt fire button? (In fact, the alt fire button could be used to switch to different ammo types like explosive rounds or armor piercing bullets)

Well, you already have a nice number of weapons with different ammo types (Tekbow, the Crossbow, the Prototype, the Combat Shotgun, etc)

Also, let's consider that not all weapons can have that kind of behavior. In theory, each one is unique in it's own way, hence why when you have the Slot limit system, you have to really consider what to keep and what to ditch. We cant add a generic behavior to all weapons of a type, because that would beat the purpose of having different weapons

Could you buff the FDemonDaddy (arachnotron) a bit. Hes so weak I can easily kill him with the starter melee weps without getting injured.

Especielly when I use the scythe alt fire. That thing is awesome to start with.

He has a huge amount of health, actually. That's the trade-off for his lacking of speed and distance attacks.

His melee attack sucks balls though. Just have to move back very small distance and he stays there doing his whole attack animation for 2 secs or so making him completely useless in all situations, except perhaps spawning right on you in a room where you cant move. In those situations I can still think of several common monsters scaring me alot more.

Being big, wide, slow and not having a ranged attack makes him excellent as a meatshield to hide behind when he takes the fire from other monsters. Just waiting for him to turn back and start hitting away at them. Besides he doesnt have enough health to stand much once you go 6 or higher weps for many secs. Being able to get pushed back many rockets doesnt help either. I dont think hes any good but if you like him as it is then I cant stop you for keeping him.
