Remade skill difficulties (now "Easy" is easy, and "Hard" is hard).

What does this mean? What changes have you done?

Explained Here.

I found it interesting how Fire doesn't hurt flesh, but does hurt mechanical units, but electricity does hurt flesh as well. I haven't even had a static shock in a few years for some reason.

I love how flesh is hurt a lot by bullets. M'thinks holy should do less to flesh, and unholy, more to flesh.

Plasma likely ought to hurt ice more, perhaps.

Magic is energy, which is basically heat. Perhaps it ought to hurt fire less, and ice more?

Electric may also not hurt fire much either, as fire and lightning are both forms of energy. Ice, I Don't know... I've never seen lightning strike ice.

And I really look forward to seeing the new disintegrate deaths. <3 There's nothing more fun than disintegrating your annoyances.

Fire doesn't have any (DIS)ADVANTAGES on flesh (doesn't add any bonus or penalty). They still burn alright.

@Findus: Is just the fact that the easy skills are still easy. However, the 4th skill in the list (which in the console is "Skill 3") is considerably harder than how it was in 5.03. The last skill is pretty much nuts, so I wouldnt try it. IMO, the 4th one is enough to have some nightmares in levels with many monsters Very Happy

@ShadowTiger: What you say kind of makes sense, however, this table I presented was also shown to the testers months ago for suggestions, and the general concensus was that "it's just fine". Hence why we kept it this way. Also, as cooke mentioned, while there are indeed advantages and disadvantages per monster vs damage type, there is also neutral damage, which is dealt normally.

I think thats the one Im almost always is playing on since the one above seems to be annoyingly hard.

The very last skill in the list is indeed unfair. This time I decided to keep skills similar to those found in vanilla doom, so, people can try in the last one, but I wouldnt be surprised if they dont get too far.

Interesting. So what does the "skill" level actually affect, anyway? Monster HP? Monster Damage Ratios? Any Drop Rate affects?

Error since I applied patch. grrr. GRRRRRR. Mad

Script error, "aeoddat.pk3:decorate/wepclass3.aed" line 130:
Expected ')', got ','.

Well the difficulty changes:
The amoun of ammo given per ammo taken I think. How aggressive the monsters are. How many monsters spawn and what strenght they are. Also increases monsterdamage. Could probably do more but I dont think aeod has more. Or didnt before to my knowledge anyway.

Well, I'm playing in Apocalypse skill with TNT:Evilution, and I've died like 10 times in the first 6 levels. So yeah, things got a lot harder.

Heh, is just that at some point, without me noticing, AEoD became too easy. Was time to fix that.

I think it was the huge amount of ammo and health that drops from the monsters. Hearts and orbs everywhere.

Didnt you change something about the blood animation as well or is it just me? Somehow the blood when you hurt something is alot bigger than before.

It was changed. It's a completely different effect than what's on 5.03.

Just so you know, I'm not complaining. I love the challenge.

And those new monsters are a nice addition (damn zombie Quake rottweilers who won't stay dead *grumble*)

Yeah, I just met the Orange HL2 Elite Combine. I honestly wanted to ask his autograph. I LOVE the weapon that he was using. <3

The the jumping quake monster that you can only harm/see once he jumps What a Face is by far the most annoying monster you have made so far, I love him.

I've also noticed that enemies no longer drop health like candy, weapons are harder to find, and ammo can actually give you some problems now. Nicely done.

BTW, I just had a nasty encounter with a Flamethrower zombie. Opening a door and being greeted with a jet of flame to the face is unpleasant, to say the least. Laughing
