hi aeod developers and community

thanks for the awesome mod

i really need your help to talk some sense into the gzdoom developers back at drbteam
about the playerclass selection bug being forced to random everytime a game is started.

this bug has already been posted 2 times in their forum but they wont listen!
they keep closing th topic as a solved bug!

aeod and every doom mod that uses classes is unplayable and frustrating with this bug
this happens in gzdoom current 1.5.3 and the latest svn build too 1.5.3 r1077

please do something if you can!

its really a pain having to play with this bug
also i cant go back to gzdoom 1.5.2 because otherwise aeod custom controls (the dropweapon)
wont work properly!!

Whatever you do, don't downgrade. Always make sure you have the latest SVN.

As for the player classes... We've been hammering at them as well.

Then you should stop doing that.

Graf already posted the explanation on the zdoom forums.

We might not be OK, with this, but I dont see this changing soon.

So, unfortunately this is outside our scope here, since it's an "issue" with the engine rather than the mod.


What I might end up doing is adding a player selection screen (like the one in hexen) and releasing a mini patch ASAP, now that I know this is not going to change.
